PuraPhy 20 Celebrities 2021: Gwyneth Paltrow, No.7

When PuraPhy launched in 2019, we were determined to be a different kind of destination covering CBD, hemp, functional mushrooms and other plant-based products: We wanted to have a point of view. Thus, The PuraPhy 20 concept was born.

The PuraPhy 20 is a ranked list of individuals who fit in different categories who—right now—wield significant influence in the world of CBD be it with consumers, businesses, governmental officials, regulatory agencies or others. PuraPhy believes that to hold genuine power is to have the ability to persuade and influence wide swaths of relevant stakeholders. The PuraPhy 20’s categories will include celebrities, politicians, athletes, scientists, influencers and more.

The inaugural list ranked some of the biggest celebrity CBD pioneers and placed them accordingly to just how influential they had been in shaping public opinion about the use of CBD. Surprisingly, only six celebrities who made the list in 2019 have made 2021’s roster of celebrity CBD influencers. And, yes, Kim Kardashian made the cut, but the famous personalities who use—and persuade millions of others to—love CBD is as eclectic as one might expect.

Goop, even the name of the Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s company she founded and runs sounds perfectly, harmoniously, inevitably aligned with all things CBD, doesn’t it? Goop. I like saying it out loud. To complement the wide array of CBD-infused products available for purchase on Goop,, Paltrow recently entered a partnership agreement with Green Thumb Industries Inc. to make and distribute Gwyneth Paltrow-backed CBD-infused sparkling water, Cann, in the US. The brand was a huge hit in the early testing phase in California.

Paltrow was one of the first celebrity to fully endorse and encourage use of CBD products promoting everything from bath bombs to CBD-infused cocktails, teas and cakes. There’s even CBD guides written by Goop to help consumers understand CBD’s many possible uses. With Cann, her first foray into the CBD-infused beverage market, Paltrow is once again leading the pack.

At the Goop Health Conference in 2018, Paltrow had this to say: “I love this [CBD, cannabis] subject. It really has the potential to shift old patterns of thought and change lives, and I feel like we really could be on the precipice of something a lot bigger than we realize, scientifically.”

Goop is good on all things CBD.
